Some of those entertainers we need to keep cities out of disorder....if we still need some when we buy wines from the English then try turning them into Taxmen. Sometimes you can do that and keep the people happy enough, and you gain an extra gpt each time.

I think things would be more efficient if we used this workforce in the fields. The money and research we'll get will be improved by our marketplaces, and we'll get more shield to complete our projects faster.

This is a good idea. I didn't think of it during the session. I'll open Civ3 to see how practical that can be
Edit: it isn't optimal for now. This rise in luxury relieves a few of our core cities, and it doesn't liberate enough manpower to balance the budget back.
