Here is the deal:
Egypt are at war with half the world (still)
We can make military alliance against four other nations - America, Korea, Russia and Rome. Egypt will give us Invention and their territory map.
What we risk:
- Loose some cities on the western continent to Rome.
- Get involved in war with more nations if some of these 4 have mutual protection pacts
- War with Egypt if they make peace with the others (I'm not very sure about this. Can someone help?)
What will we win:
- Well, Invention without paying anything. We will have our incomes of gold and we can make one archer every 3 turns to berserker.
- One powerful gracious ally - Egypt (or at least I think so)
- Modern army (roughly equal to the cavalry) and the greatest sea terror
How will we avoid the possible negative sides of this trade:
- we have landed troops from 4 galleys who will reach our undefended city (which is near the roman cities) on the western continent in 6 turns. Our horsmen can reach it in 3 turns. There are no roman troops in our sight which means they will need at least two turns to reach that undefended city.
- upgrade archers to berserkers and use our current troops to counter attacks from persians and spainiards if they try to attack our home land. I have to remind you that they have riflemen and I don't know how can we counter them...
And one last thing:
5 turns earlier we could aquire Invention for no money only for alliance vs. America and Korea. After this Egypt made peace with the Greeks and we have to get involved in war with more nations.
So, what do you think?
