Which techs can we sell to the Aztecs so they can make more gold which they can use to buy techs from us? They could be a nice gold producer for us as they are behind us in the tech race.

Doesn't matter. With the way the AI treats them, they will be a minimal producer. All their gold will go into funding their military. If you give them a new tech where they gain military units, they will build such units. Give them a couple, take what little they have, and ignore them. I would like to see this city producing for us.
14 units, we will need a few berzerkers, and thus a few galleys... and that would mean we need to build a town on that moat, with a harbour that is a lot of building...

I have gone back and look at our history and it seems to me that Persia bribed Aztecs in to the war against Egypt with the knowledge of Mathematics and 40G and they have no execs income at all. So I think the best way to "use" them is to settle as close as possible to their borders and grab the good resources, and when the ROP end may be go inside its borders.
I don't think a cultural flip will happen as they admirers our culture.
