Myself, I to like to crush... and swamp the buggers, I was thinking more of a fleet of 6 to 7 galleys...
1 main force with two objectives.
Sale along the Blue line.
Land in Blue circle.
Red Goup attacks and takes the city of Madrid.
This force would consist of 4 swords and 2 cats.
Yellow group slits into two, and defends the Yellow circles.
Thus cutting the Peninsula off from any mad Spainards that try to rush to the aid of Madrid.
This force would consist of two sets of 4 or 5 units. Preferably swords as they have the same defense as spears, and can then be available to attack other Spainish cities once Madrid is secure, if we plan to continue.
Swords 3-2-1
Spears 1-2-1
Cats bombard 4- range 1 - rate of fire 1
At least 6 or 7 gallys but more if possible, 10 if you can spare them.
They will be pissed for sure when they lose madrid, and inevitably will counter. I would advise we open an embassy and get a look see before we wade in also!
It would be my suggestion that as well as the invasion force there are other units available to be shipped over as soon as possible. Why have we no fast movers ?

3 Galleys is nowhere near enough on Deity. It's not enough on Monarch!
6 Galleys would be my minimum suggested, say 6-8 Swords, 3 Spears and the rest Cats, and we should expect to have to reinforce in the following few turns, as Spain would come at us after a few turns.
