  • Which civilisation do we play as?

The discussion thread has been open long enough, and now it's time to vote. All options supported in the discussion are included here to vote for.

You have one vote, so choose the option you like best. After the poll is closed, a repoll will be done with all of the options here that get within 6 votes (10% of our membership) of the highest number of votes for any one choice.

Let's play the English to maximize the challenge.

I guess there will probably be a tie-breaker poll later?

the celtic unit is far overrated, in my opinion.

first off, it's cost is too expensive at such an early part of the game.

second, if we don't get iron, we'll have to scramble for it.

third, our golden age will come far too early.

fourth, the celtic unit becomes obsolete rather quickly (feudalism).

The Berzerk is 6.2.1 amphibious, no resources. sure, they're expensive, but they come at the beginning of the middle ages, where our cities are going to be growing rapidly. also, they last a lot longer than the galliac warror, as Berzerks are an even match for RIFLEMEN. every defensive unit before that it TOAST.

amphibious is also not to be overlooked, it comes in handy more than you would think, simply because mariens in civ3 suck ass

having an amphibious unit that mops the floor with defenders is freaking awesome! you can penetrate deep into enemy territory and sieze valuable coastal cities the same turn the war starts! ugh! BERSERKIR!!!

                            Random.

I think we can already see what the run-off options will be (Vikings, Celts, Random). Could we specify the random selection process? Like what civs or traits to exclude and how the pick will be made.
