  • Happy Yule

As many people well know, Christmas is based off of the ancient tradition of a Yule Celebration, which in turn is based off of ancient sun worship. In many calendars through the ages, the winter solstice was on December 25th. The solstice is the shortest day of the year here in the northern hemisphere. Therefore it is considered the "Birth Day" of the sun. Christians, always eager to pick up on a good thing, basically just renamed the same holiday and called it the "Birth Day" of their son, Christ.

As many of our fellow demo gamers do not celebrate Christmas, I offer holiday greetings in the name of Yule, an ancient holiday celebrating the birth of the sun. Peace and enjoy.

      Awesome!! Thanks man.

It's interesting that most religions, and all the major ones as far as I know, have absorbed motifs from ancient religions that worshipped celestial bodies, mostly the sun or the moon. And to think that we worship bananas.
