  • War Academy: reports on preparations & timelines

I, for one, feel that the SMC, the CP and any other government officials that are involved in the preparations for the war with Germany should release periodical status reports concerning the preparations for the war. I believe that it is the government's duty to provide accurate information, stats and timelines to the public so that we can make better decisions.
I ask the government officials to provide the public with at least this essential information:
    * Military stats: how many cavalries and cannons do we have? How many do we predict that we'll have in the next five turns? Ten turns? Etc'.
    * War timelines: when will all the units be in place? When do we plan to declare war on Germany? Etc'.
    * The government's current war objectives and terms for peace (if any).
    * The government's current plans on the diplomatic side: have we decided to use the MPPs strategy that I presented, a similar strategy, something that is completely different or no diplomatic strategy at all (just attack)?

I'll try to post something about this shortly. For startes, here is a quote from my post in the turchat thread:

We can get Industrialization in 6 turns if we take a breif income hit of -34 LPT (7 turns @ +68LPT). THis is BEFORE any further tech & other trades. We have 375 in our coffers and we'll get money from the Zulu in 4 turns when we go for peace.

We will also have 1 Bank in 2 turns (which will also allow us to start on building Wall Street); 2 Universities in 1 turn and 1 more in 3 turns (we also had one come online just this turn); 1 Library in 4 turns. We will have 1 city that will grow beyond size 6 next turn, with 1 more in 3 turns and 2 more after that in 4 turns. We should have NO problem tweeking down the slider in a couple of turns time, if we go at this rate. We should beat Otto to Industrialisation and be able to sell it at our leasure.

As for Otto, we didn't renew the Spice deal with him last turn, as it would have been Revenue Neutral if we had, we let it ride. So we are currently 16 turns away from the possible D-day when we have to renew the Peace Treaty with Otto. We have one more Renegote in 11 turns (for Incense & Dyes) that we can let ride, too.

I'm making my plans based on 16 turns.

Shiber, Your government is mostly away from the city that they live in, because of a US Religious based Holiday called Thanksgiving.

Are there not some very important Religious Holidays that takes a lot of people's time away in your country. Tolerance requires understanding and the understanding comes from the knowledge of diversity.

As for me, I had a great Thanksgiving feast with my family (I am very fortunate that they are local). I got a couple of great pictures of 4 generations of women in our family (the most that we have had from the time I was born in 1961). I then got home and worked hours on those maps on the other thread. I'll be starting on some orders today, but I also have regular RL stuff to do too.

Shiber, I hope that this helps you get a little of understanding, so that you can tolerate some of our Government's Absence for a few more days. It will get worse next month with Christmas & New Years, trust me.

I apologize, I had no idea it was thanksgiving. Had I known there was some holiday I would have been more tolerate.
I hope you all enjoy the holiday.

Okay now Thanksgiving is over. Hope everyone stuffed themselves.

I want to know how many military units we have, where they are, and I want to know how they are going to go to Germany.
