  • Official IE Poll: Should we build a new city, and where?

In my other IE thread (to which there is a link below) , I proposed 7 seperate city sites to possibly build cities at. Those proposals can be found at:

Those proposals were discussed for some time, and now I am posting a poll about those possible city sites.

This poll asks Should we build a city, and if so, where?

And just so you know, here's how this poll works:
After the poll is closed, I will compare the number of people who wanted to build a city (options 1-8) to the number who didn't want to build a city (option 9). If more people wanted to build a city, then a city will be built at the most chosen city site. If more people didn't want to build a city, then a city will not be built.

Abstain/Banana/Don't Care votes do not count as anything; they are neither "yes" votes nor are they "no" votes.

    This poll lasts 5 days.

One more thing: Even though those pictures are from the 700AD save, all of those city sites are still available in the 770AD save. (I checked.)

Voted against all those cities sites.

With the Second French war, now it not the time to build a new city for culture bombing. (Which all of these sites to a verying degrees are)

Since of the Yes options, the Red site is getting the most votes, the disadvantage of that site is that it's CR would overlaps our new forbidden palace with the following two effects:

      1. The Forbidden Palace city won't be as productive after Hospital.

      2. Roughly half the empire will have increased corrpution under non-Communism as a result of building a city there. (Those cities who will be closer to the Forbidden Palace than Palace and are further away from it than the "Red" city site)

Actually, the main thing that will need done that's in the City Planner's jurisidiction is that as the English citys defect to us, many of them will need to be disbanded (converted to workers) as they are heavilly overlaping existing cities.

Sounds like being IE minister this term is the easiest job. Nowhere to expand to, nothing to do but twiddle your thumbs until we sack a city or disband. I'm almost glad I lost the race...

          Results so far:
11 people voted yes for building a city.
14 people voted no for building a city.
          1 person doesn't care.

Right now, it looks like we won't be building a city, but it won't take many votes to change that.

You're right. Being IE minister hasn't been too much of a challenge this term.

Well, if your looking for something to do, I'd sugest looking over the Persian lands and the nearby English cities and decided which cities should be disbanded by building workers. That area is the worst offender in too densely packed city placement.

(Athough this would seem to make your real job Minister of Imperial Contraction.)

good job Jonny, I like the way you've set this up. I don't think we should build any further cities, however; none of these places are very viable.

have you looked into establishing something off-continent? is there any open coast line on one of the other continents where we could annex a portion? it could be Highly useful to have a port out there in the future, to give us a more global range!

I'm against establishing bases that would cause us to be sharing islands/ contientants with lost civs.

If however we find empty isles we should settle those.

Hopefullly a new world map is completed soon.

Light orange seems to have goten a bunch of votes recently.

My response is that unless the intention is to convert both Washington and Boston into workers after they flip, I'm against it.

Well, we won't be building any new cities at the sites listed in this plan...

14 people said yes to building a city at one of the sites.
18 people said no to building cities at any of the sites.
