  • Construction Shack - Forbidden Palace Status

    THe buildup to the start of construction on the Forbidden Palace is underway. It's schedualed to be built in the City of Contagion.
    THe buildup before starting actual construction of the FP is:
    1) Temple - Completed. For initial Happiness
    2) Courthouse - Complete. To fight Corrution & Waste (currently at 63% for both).
    3) Cathedral - Current built. To get WLKD (reducing waste to 45%).
    4) Marketplace - In Queue. To keep WLKD as population increases.
    5) Forbidden Palace - In Queue.

    The Cathedral is currently being built, with 12 Shields Produced towards it's completion. If not rushed, it will take 12 more turns to complete. I plan to rush this after about 33% of it's build has been completed (earliest in 750AD) for 200 Lytons. This will have the effect of bringing the City to WLKD status and reducing Production Waste from 63% to 45%. This will increase actual shield output from 6 to 8 per turn (based on current Infrastructure status & WF Placements).

    The next item to be built before actual construction begins is a Marketplace. THis will both increase our total income, but with it's effect on Luxuies, will allow the City to grow up to size 9 (and maintain WLKD) with just the 5 Luxuries available. As we will be soon contacting & trading with the "Lost Civ's" (we have Navigation now), the city could grow to size 10 with 6 Luxes and Size 12 with 7 Luxes. The higher Population would allow higher Shield output, Reducing the final construction time for the FP. I have also schedualed Rushing the Market with at least 33% of shield Production (earliest of 810AD, depending on the actual time of completion for the Cathedral) at about 240 Lytons.

    If all schedualed Rushes are completed as Planned, FP construction will start on 820AD. It would be completed at most 25 turns after that (less with higher sheild outputs).

    I'll update this thread with regular status reports, as time progresses.

    We all knew it would take a while. Hopefully it will all go smoothly. If we get industrialization prior to completion, would you look at changing over to a factory, rushing it, then going back to the FP? When I initially started this, factories seamed so far out that they never entered my mind. With our tech going so fast....

      The faster we rush our Queue,the faster 1/2 of our empire can get the benefits of FP. By now(720 AD) the cathedral is probably near completion, So it would take only about 380 gold to finish the Marketplace fast, weigh this against the corruption cutting. Although I'm generally against rush builds at this point, starting work on the FP is very important!

        Phase 3 Completed

        The thrid Phase toward having the Forbidden Palace in Contagion has been completed. The Cathedral was rushed as per the schedual and now we are on Phase Four. The build schedual is:
        1) Temple - Completed. For initial Happiness
        2) Courthouse - Complete. To fight Corrution & Waste (currently at 63% for both).
        3) Cathedral - Current built. To get WLKD (reducing waste to 45%).
        4) Marketplace - In Queue. To keep WLKD as population increases.
        5) Forbidden Palace - In Queue.
        With the Cathedral in place (and WLKD), We now have 45% Production Waste, leaving a Production Rate of 9 Shields per turn (at current Infrastructure status).

        The Marketplace, which will allow the city size to increase and maintain WLKD is currently under production, with 9 shields already produced towards it's completion. My plan was to Rush it after 33% of completion in 810AD (for about 240 Lytons) or later. But because of Infrastructure Improvements which increased overall production, we'll be able to rush the Market earlier, in 800AD for 256 Lytons.

        At that point, The final Phase will begin and at current Shield output and Corruption/Waste, it will be completed 23 turns after start of construction.

          Maybe we should rush the marketplace earlier. It's a very important issue and the quicker we rush the marketplace, the quicker we'll have the FP in place which will have a tremendous affect on the surrounding cities (which we all know have a huge commercial potential).

            Remember also that we are on the verge of a GA, so the FP will be completed much quicker.

              I'm posting the expected times compaired to what is the currently available output. The time of completion should be reduced with the GA, and I'll make regular updates as the conditions change with time. I'm hoping for an overall reduction of 5-7 turns from GA & Production Increases due to Population & Infrastructure.

                Final Phase started - 820AD Report

                The last phase of build up to actual construction of the Forbidden Palace has been completed. We rushed the Marketplace, as scheduled, in 800AD. We have now started building the Forbidden Palace.

                With one turn of construction completed, 16 of the required 200 shields have been produced towards completion. This has been helped greatly by the timely coming of our Great Age, which was brought about in 800AD. This has increased production output by a great deal and if the output stays the same, the FP will be competed in 12 turns (940AD). This might be affected by increased waste with the further annexing of more French Cities, which could cause the TOC to slip back only about 1 to 2 turns.

                The City Population is also due to grow in 10 turns, but I’ll have a worker or two added to the city to quickly add to the population and further increase overall output and growth rate. With the new Luxurues from the lost Civs, the city can grow to its current maximum of 12 and still have WLMrWIAD to help reduce Production Waste.

                I’ll update this as we get closer to completion.

                    Forbidden Palace nears Completion

                    The Final Phase of the Forbidden Palace in Contaginon is nearing it final completion. We are 40 years (4 turns) away from this momentous occasion.

                    I honor of this occasion, The Ministry of City Planning will be calling a temporary halt of all producion nationwide (stopping the turnchat early) for a Party in Celebration of it's completion. Come and join us in marveling at this great achievement of ours.
