  • Economic Report #3

The year is 430 AD, and this is economic report #3:

Corruption continues to plague our mighty nation, but largely thanks to the completion of courthouses in very corrupt cities, the loss is much less than it could otherwise be. The hold out in this matter is Macross City, which has seen unprecedented growth that has made it our nation's largest city, but at the same time the corruption is atrocious. The first chart compares the corruption in the "Corrupt Four" cities of Gaia, Del Monte, Here It Is, and Macross city in 310 AD and 430 AD.
***Result: a courthouse is urgently needed in Macross City, but the other three are much improved.

The second chart in the post below is a breakdown of where our income is going; corruption is second only to the amount that we are receiving into the treasury each turn; maintenance and foreign deals follow respectively.
***Result: switching to Republic will dramatically increase income, however it will also bring about two entirely new expenses: a luxury rate, and military upkeep. A special Economic Report will be issued tomorrow to further analyze this issue.

      Excellent, Reddawg.
One thing is very impressive: With one exception, the corrupted cities' club had a consistent reduction in their part on total corruption. IMO, this is because the Empire is bigger, we have more corrupted cities to share the total amount (correct me if I'm wrong). Nevertheless, Macross City's corruption is growing too much! How much can we reduce the losses with a courthouse? The city seems to be a natural place to the Palace (at least, is one of the options in the coming poll), or the FB...

Good report! I especially liked the corruption charts.
For more information about corruption and waste and an application that calculates the corruption and waste in a city, see this thread.

If a city is a logical candidate for a Palace / Forbidden Palace, a Court House should be built first because it will take less time to build the Court House + Palace / Forbidden Palace then the Palace / Forbidden Palace.

The courthouse will go into construction in Macross City in 440 AD... overall the courthouses seem to be slashing corruption by about one-third, which is excellent. The Forbidden Palace needs more analysis, as far as where we should build it.
