The problem is that we have little to Offer Russia for friendship. We are more powerful than Rome, but Rome is right next door- a war against us is not as life-threatening as one aganist Rome, for the Russians. Worse, we have little to bribe Russia with- unless we build up a huge treasury. Plus, since the Russians have various luxuries we will have , like Incense and dyes, we can't trade to them, while theRomans will- they have more wine than us. GePap: wouldn't you agree that at least Russia seems headed towards a position of at least stalling Rome? I wonder if we made motions to befriend Russia if it wouldn't cause Rome to hesitate?
In any case it would benefit us to keep a Rome/Russia friendship from coming into full fruition; because then basically all of Abananaba Minor would be against us.
We could use Russia against Rome, but it seems to me more ikely that Rome will use Russia against us, if we don't do something radical. Any war aginst France will only make Russia more aprehensive about us.If you don't like reality, change it! me

I do not support a war against France; this is even more distressing to me now that we are the absolutely hegemons of the known world. All the other powers are going to become more wary of our actions; and beside that, the old system of one or two powers clearly dominating several smaller ones, seems to be giving way to 3 major powers and some medial powers...
