I wonder: if we are able to sell the granary in Del Monte now that we have The Pyramids, why were we unable to sell the old Barracks as well when we got Sun Tzu's Art of War?
Is this some kind of a bug, or did we sell them and I just didn't notice? Or perhaps Sun Tzu's wonder is different in some way that it doesn't let you sell your old Barracks.

try zoom into a city and check each city and right click and see if you can sell.... i had to do this for granary and was half done until i realized I had save before we got granary. So, if you have a save before we got sun tzu you can check the names of city that had barracks then try selling there.
        :-p

I don't think we can sell our barracks. I tried every city in the core area, as well as Ubergorsk (which I recall had barracks) and I couldn't sell a single Barracks improvement.
Why is it that we can sell old granaries but not old barracks?

I'm pretty sure they were all sold before Zu's was built.
            Are we having fun yet?

I ordered the barracks sold with the construction of Sun Tzu.

I will order the grainery in Del Monte not this comming chat, but in the next one. Right now there are two immortals and one archer threatining McDonalds (that is the new city name) and I want to be sure it is firmly in our hands prior to selling the grainery.

Thanks for the reminder. Any and all help in the city planning office is very appreciated.

Hey, are you the guy who is inventing those city names?

I've always wanted a word with that guy...

                  Plague Rat -

Nope. Each government official has had the opportunity to name a city. I named Macross City. Others, such as timeline, named "timeline" (funny how that worked out). Anyways, as City Planner, I just give the orders to the prez to change city name x into city name y, based upon what the ministers choose.

This term, the number of ministers that had already named cities was so large, and our occupation of uber island, persia, and the gaps by france that we have settled caused a large lack of appropriate names. Thus the thread asking the ministes adn justices who have not named things to do so. As many people other than the govt posted, and as we were lacking many names, this turn I picked names from the thread that were suggested and renamed all the Heathen Barbarian Cities. If people have problems with these names, I am more than open to changing them as appropriate. However, cities that were named by the approved (voted on method durring term 1) method prior to this comming turns I will not change unless the people vote and tell me to do so. However, it would IMO be an insult to those who named them to change them and I will in fact have to be forced to do so. I may not like the names some have choosen, but that is not relevent at this point.

                  Hope this helps you out.

Godking, the archer and immortals are not sufficeiint to take persopolis, so I think we are ok in selling the grainery there.

                      GK-

Perhaps we should have an ammendment or something that spells out a process to "impeach" a city name if a large portion of the citizens want it changed.

Say 5 citizens have to request a city's name to be changed to a name they agree on, then the City Planner submits a poll which must pass by at least a 75% vote in favor of the new name.

This would give us a way to change really cruddy names that no one likes.

                        Well, ghengis and godking...

I once voted for timeline, in the good faith he would
                        not name a city "timeline".
                        That's not suitable as a city-name. It's just a plain nick.
And this convention is very antidemocratic and not constitutionalized.

We definitly need to make a poll about it.

                        Ok...
What options do we need to vote for?
