    Shiber,

    What about this trade off?

/me gets nervious... a decision that'll actually affect something! I'm not ready for this,

We take one, two, three, and four. With the cash generated by number one, we upgrade number three to the Ivory plan (which I'm not in favor of either, but it sounds like we need to make lasting trades with Greece and Rome to ensure that they don't declare war on us, which would ruin the Persian operation).

Also, assuming that E_T's numbers are right about being able to reassign production, the Ivory option might have other benefits... I probably wouldn't go for it normally, but this seems like the best compromise -- it gets us something out of option three (even at a high price), and also (hopefully) ensures that we will not find ourselves dragged into another war that could ruin our current plans. We should also be able to contribute a bit of money to the military campeign, while also improving Foreign Relations all around.

If we don't do the ivory option, then does Rome have anything else we want? I really don't like the dyes for free option, lol, but I guess we could give it to them to forstall war.

    Any thoughts from anyone?

The ivories would be very useful in the sense that we could immediately send the settler and a war chariot to uber island. Lets face it we need to know whats there and this would help. Also we would get another city where we can really use it. So for the record I am now for getting the ivory. Also these trade deal can give us time to "liberate" the oppressed people of persia and also with a producing powerhouse at apolyton we can do much(remember we don't need any growth there only production since we are maxed out for a while. Relating to this can we have some workers to mine in the area too. Also lets hope for a settler or unit from the goodie hut.

Ok... everyone take a look at the first draft of my orders (http://www.apolyton.net/forums/showt...20#post1291520) and let me know about any obvious omissions, comments, or disagreements.

Thank you for including the Ivory deal in the plans (tenative as of this post). Please make sure that the city planner changes production in 'Poly after the deal is done (so as to take full advantage).

            E_T,
You deserve full credit for the Ivory idea, as I basically used your proposal. To be honest, I'd still rather not use it at all, but since the Foreign Ministry (and the Minister of the Economy) would be basically paying for the bill plus a bit in the other trades, and we have to do something with Rome, it seems like the best option. Still, very nice plan, and good eye catching it . I still could go back to Shiber's original idea (and would if anyone convinces me), but I think I'll probably be sticking with this, as I want to get some benefit out of our dyes, even if it means we wind up paying a bit for it.

            Either way, nice plan .

I'll PM GodKing (Edit: and OPD) and point out to them that the Ivory deal will probably affect production times.
