  • The State of The Nation: Statistics, 30 BC

This report is intended to advise and analyze trends in Apolytonia over time. These stats are the result of analysis of five saved games, 2590 BC, 1400 BC, 430 BC, 350 BC, 210 BC, and 30 BC (current).

    SUMMARY:

*The population of Apolytonia has swelled from 635,000 citizens in 210 BC to 1,017,000 citizens in 30 BC, an amazing growth of 60.2%! Hail to the Banana for allowing fertility to boost Apolyton's population past one million for the first time ever.
*90,000 volunteers, and 130,000 slaves now works the fields, roads, and mines of Apolytonia. The percentage of slave labor has fallen but is still high: 59% of the workforce is comprised of slaves, of Persian, Germanic, American, Babylonian, and French descent. Statistician Davout notes that only 41.8% of the work carried out is on the part of the slaves. If you were to count these slaves as Apolytonian citizens, the population would rise by 12.8%.
*Apolyton is the nation's largest city with 157,000 citizens, making it the largest ever in Apolytonian history.
*Macross City has proven to be the fastest growing in all of Apolytonia, blooming an astounding 230% over the last term from 10,000 to 33,000.
*Apolyton brings in the most income, with 12 Lytons per turn, whilst Here It Is brings in the most income per capita, .133 lytons per thousand people.
*Apolyton produces the most shields, 7 per turn, while the new Uber Island outpost Another Glorious City produces the most per capita, at .158 shield per thousand people. It promises to be a leading city in our nation in industry.
*Apolyton and Banana HQ are no longer the only cities with scientific output, as they are joined by Termina and Tassagrad. They each put out a measly 1 per turn. This is an alarming trend and a bad note for the scientific community.
*The alarming influx of foreign blood in the past two centuries has lost momentum, much to the relief of the A.R.E. There are 42,000 people of American descent in the land, or 4.1% of the total population. This is from 20,000 in Gaia and 22,000 in Delmonte. That number has fallen from the previous 44,000 and 6.9% of national population. There are 80,000 people of French decent, a growth of 48.1%, although the have become more of a minority, down to 7.9% of the total population. This is a combined foreign population of 11.0%, down from 15.4%. Actual numbers of foreigners are up 14.3% (Far below the national growth of 60.2%!).
*The treasury continues it's unbroken streak of increasing per turn gains in Lytons.

    *Demographic highlights:
-Apolytonia's approval rating is declining due to increasingly less popular wars and the A.R.E. radicals, falling from the high of 62% and 3rd in the world to 59% and 8th in the world.
-Apolytonia's most impressive demographic is it's continual growth in terms of land area. It has climbed 21.1% to 32,700 square miles, and is now the 2nd largest in the world!
-The disease, although still the worst in the world, has fallen 7% to 34%.
-The most alarming trend is the drop in average military service to 9 from 12 years. This trend must be curbed in the sake of national security, especially in light of the Persian horde on the easter borders of El Niño Province.
-The DIA should be pleased that industrial demographics this past term are the best ever, with productivity rising 50% from 9th to 7th in the world, and manufacturing goods rising 42.4%.

    Current Regional Comparisons:
•Mingapulco Province(currently Apolyton, Termina, Tassagard, Banana HQ, Port Rouge):
543,000; 8.8% foreign; 53.4% of national population (a sharp fall since last term). 31 Lytons income; 22 shields output; 4 science output (a 100% increase!).
•Principality of Piña Colada (currently Timeline, Gaia, Del Monte, Chiquita):
165,000; 25.5% foreign (a precipitous drop); 16.2% of national population (fair rise). 11 Lytons income; 8 shields output; 0 science output.
•El Niño Province (currently Loveshack, Seeberg, Ubergorsk, Geofront, Napoleton):
188,000; 0% foreign; 18.4% of national population (a small drop). 11 Lytons income; 9 shields output (a significant rise); 0 science output.
•Île de Rose (currently Here It Is, Macross City, Jerusalem, Cherbourg):
102,000; 31.4% foreign (a huge drop); 10.0% of national population (a huge rise). 10 Lytons income; 5 shields outpout; 0 science output.
•Uber Island (currently Another Glorious City):
19,000; 0% foreign; 1.9% of of national population. 1 Lyton income; 3 shield output; 0 science output.
Analysis: Mingapulco dominates in all aspects. However the day of their eminence is falling, as in the next term the might of the other provinces combined will be, for the first time, more than that of Mingapulco. Île de Rose province is firmly off it's feet and shows prospects for greatness. El Niño province is seeing the least amount of growth, it is worrisome.

    Foreign Comparisons:
*note: these stats are estimates based off of averages and cannot be made any more accurate by way of current knowledge of the country (and without cheating) thus all numbers are approximate*
    ~France = 265,000 or 0.26 times the size of Apolytonia (29.3% increase)
    ~Greece = 1,255,000 or 1.23 times the size of Apolytonia (13.1% increase)
    ~Aztec = 1,025,000 or 1.01 times the size of Apolytonia (21.3% increase)
    ~Persia = 1,650,000 or 1.62 times the size of Apolytonia (60.2% increase)
    ~England = 1,235,000 or 1.21 times the size of Apolytonia (24.7% increase)
    ~America = 180,000 or .18 times the size of Apolytonia (20.0% increase)
    ~Germany = 1,710,000 or 1.68 times the size of Apolytonia (21.3% increase)
    ~Russia = 690,000 or 0.68 times the size of Apolytonia (-0.7% increase)
    ~Babylon = 225,000 or 0.22 times the size of Apolytonia (40.6% increase)
    ~Rome = 1,230,000 or 1.21 times the size of Apolytonia (32.3% increase)
    ~Iroquois = 235,000 or .23 times the size of Apolytonia (34.3% increase)
Analysis: Numbers on the remaining 3 civilizations are unavailable, but we can conclude (based upon Apolytonia's world ranking of 8th in population) that there is 1 as-yet-unknown civ's whose population is larger. Furthermore, decreases in population denote increases in worker force/settlers (Russia).

    Population Density:
*due to currently unavailable estimates of foreign nations' land area, density is based on average city size.
    ^Apolytonia = 53,500 per city
    ^France = 29,400 per city
    ^Greece = 73,800 per city
    ^Aztec = 73,200 per city
    ^Persia = 137,500 per city
    ^England = 102,900 per city
    ^America = 45,000 per city
    ^Germany = 155,500 per city
    ^Russia = 62,700 per city
    ^Babylon = 45,000 per city
    ^Rome = 87,900 per city
    ^Iroquois = 26,100 per city
Analysis: Apolyton's city density continues to lag behind. Iroquois density is paltry. Germany has surpassed the Persians.

    Military Stats:
*note:military stats are for the purpose of comparisons only, and are not absolute indications of strength; they are however adjusted to consider strength of units (to account for, example, that fact that 10 musketmen are better than 10 spearmen).*
+Total offensive power in 210 BC is 59(2 naval); defensive is 64(2 naval); mobility is 46(6 naval)
+ Total offensive power in 30 BC is 64(2 naval); defensive is 67(2 naval); mobility is 47(6 naval)
+Offensive power has grown a smallish 8.5% (due to the war).
+Defensive power has grown 4.7% (too small).
    +Mobility has grown 2.2%.
+The number of total units has grown 11.1%.

MAJOR POWERS: (any nation with 15% more points than the mean; "lost civs" not listed):
    1. Greece, 31.7% above mean
*note: no other Abananaba powers make the cut. However Apolytonia makes leaps and bounds, rising from 10th to 6th!*

MAJOR GROWERS: (any nation with 2% more growth than the mean; "lost civs" not listed):
    1. Apolyton, 15.9% above mean
    2. Aztecs, 3.1% above mean
    3. Greece, .3% above mean
*note: Germany fell off the list this time by .9%, rather surprising. Also of note is the fact that the mean this term was 13.8%, exactly the same as last term.

    Overall Suggestions to Ministers:
    1. Based upon disease rate and life expectancy, steps should be taken by Public Works and City Planning to extinguish the plagues upon the good people of Apolytonia. This is still an issue.
    2. El Niño province is now in the most need of aid.
    3. The science output is ATROCIOUS. Something must be done.
    4. Apolyton is sparsely populated, this is worrisome.
    5. The state of the army is deteriorating, steps should be taken to beef it up.

      Don't mention it.
Is the attached chart clear enough? It's purpose is to show just how quickly Apolytonia is rising among the ranks of the world's nations.

Uhn, sorry for all the typos, I think I've got them corrected now. I focus on the numbers a bit more than the text that's why there are always damn typos... Aro, I think I'm going to try to make a map showing the distribution of Ethnic groups, it should prove interesting yeah?

Certainly! Excellent idea. I have a place to post big files, if you want. A map like that will be very useful. Are you thinking in make this periodical, like the world map?

Thx Aro, that'd be awesome. I'll try to work on it this afternoon if I have time. As for making it periodical, well I guess we'll wait to see how it turns out!

                      One more typo.

635,000 individuals in 210 BC to 1,017,000 souls in 210 BC

Did you mean 30 BC instead of the second 210 BC? Or did we grow that fast in one year? After all, anything is possible in this game.

Great work, please keep it up. I like to see how we are doing.

                        Dang!

I drooled on my keyboard again.

I would like to make a quick point. Russa was noted as having a decreasing Population and this was attributed to the possibility that settlers and workers may be involved in dropping the stat. Is Russia at war with anobody? Could this drop be the result of a war?

kring, thx for pointing out the typo, i fixed it. no, we didn't grow that much in one year lol.

treestumpx, im glad it made you drool haha, and as for Russia, they in fact increased from 9 cities to 11, but there were some drops in the sizes of the cities. i attributed this to workers/settlers, but it is also possible they had famine. i do not believe russia is at war and i know they have not lost any cities.

Another great report Reddawg! Really sheds light on some issues which have been bothering us all.
Btw, I think I came across a typo:

But only 29.5/70.5 (41.8%) of the work is done by slaves, therefore the completion of the work is not compromised.
                              Statistical anomaly.
