Uber Isle seems to be a prize. I agree with Reddawg, in the minimum, and in fact I think like Panag: one offensive unit, maybe the war chariot proposed by Ghengis, two spears to defense, two settlers (preferable three of each, plus one stack that is already there) and at least three workers.
But I'll happy with one settler, two units (1 offensive, 1 defensive) and two workers. I think we can’t afford more.
Btw, we will spend a lot of money to transform Uber Isle in a suitable place. Reddawg is right when he this as the big question.

Yes, will be. But until that, we'll need to spend money and resources. I think Uber Isle worth the effort.

I think we should have 2 defensive units, two cities (two settlers), and a worker. We don't really need to bring all this stuff out with us. we could build a defensive unit in city one and then bring out a settler, a defensive unit, and a worker.

A defensive unit (a spearman should be enough) and a settler (workers can be built on the isle since they only cost 10 shields each). Additional settlers and spearman should be money-rushed in Uber Isle later, after we finish a port and maybe a granary later (with some help from money-rushes of course).

Yes it will be but to colonize it ASAP settlers should be brought in from the mainland. The growth on the island should be enough for them to build their own workers and any additional military units. Now we have discovered Uber isle the AI will probably turn up sooner or later and we should be well established when they do.

Isn't building a harbour on Uber Isle rather premature? We can't possibly import luxuries there through the harbour yet, 'cos we haven't got astronomy. Finishing a harbour prior to astronomy would help with population growth. One of the suggested sites for the first city has access to 4 squares that give 2 or more food already (once the borders expand). That's enough to get us to size 6 (albeit slowly through size 5), so I suggest that a harbour is low down the priority list until we get close to acquiring astronomy.

You're right, I completely forgot about that. Make it a granary then.

First load: 2 more settlers, the 2nd galley should drop them off as close as possible to the future city sites to minimize risk of barbarians.

Second load: If galley A survives the first load, either 2 workers or a worker and a defensive unit

Third Load: If galley A is somehow still alive: Wait and see, if we need more settlers then that (though by this point we have 3 cities on the island to produce those), else id say war chariots.

The only risk is that we send 2 undefended settlers to found cities, but using our galley as a scout we should be able to avoid barbarians at least until after we found the cities. If thats a big problem though, just change it to settler/military unit, settler/military unit, worker/worker last. Id rather see our cities get founded asap and our workers there not soon after though and let the cities produce their defenses.

                      * Luxuries, to keep UberIsle City's population happy. For this, we need a port (no Galleys needed).
A harbor on Uber Island will be useless until we discovery astronomy anyways due to the sea tiles between us and there.

Methinks it's best to produce warriors in Uber Isle instead of wasting precious cargo space on garrison units. They only cost 10 shields each (or 40 gold if we money-rush) and they're sufficient for defending our cities and our units from barbarians (we get an attack bonus of 50% against barbarians after all).

Warriors don't have a long way in the upgrade road, but in this case they will do the job. Good idea, Shiber, and cheap, too...

                              Thanks Aro.
If the isle does turn out to be uninhabited then I don't think we'll ever have to upgrade those warriors, unless the isle falls under attack (in which case we can rush modern units as well as transport some from the mainland).
