  • War Academy: what to do with the warrior

I figured we need to discuss what to do with the warrior that we originally sent to hold position in the iron tile that's just outside of Persia's border, but now that everything's changed we might want to look into that again.

Whoops! Is THAT what it was there for?! It wasn't mentioned in Aggie's report and I never heard of it before (easy enough to miss, I guess). At least I got one turn of pillaging out of it.

I suggest either one of these two strategies:

      #1:
Our warrior is currently holding position on a hill tile and is threatened by a Persian archer. If he fortifies he'll get a total of 1.75 defense, which will give us fair odds if the archer decides to attack.
#2: The warrior will try to make its way to the iron tile anyway by going N, E, E (thus avoiding the archer while staying on hill tiles during its journey, which provide a 50% defensive bonus). Once he reaches the iron tile he should fortify (giving it a defense of 2.25).

Another way to use the warrior : send him to the mountain 3 tiles south of Nottingham, which is free of cultural influence, then fortify. This will either attract some Persian units or create a permanent threat, and if attacked he will be able to heal.
        Statistical anomaly.

I don't understand. How is he supposed to heal if he's not in friendly territory?

It is a neutral territory ; they heal 1 HP/turn in neutral territory.

Oh, you're right. I thought they need battlefield medicine to heal in non-friendly territory but then I remembered it's for healing in enemy territory.
              Thanks for correcting me!

                Here's an idea:

                a) Get a RoP with England (they will accept this)

                b) Send the warrior into English territory

c1) Persians will not follow it - we move towards Persia's iron through English lands

c2) Persians follow it - Lizzy will get upset at Xerxes (they don't have RoP). Yeah!

I think the Persian troops will stop at the border. I never succeeded in luring AI troops into another AI's borders without a RoP. Has anyone else succeeded in doing so?

I think BFM's idea is the best one I've heard so far. To me annoying Persia by farting on there iron is major objective of this war.

I'm at work... so going off memory and such:

The persian city to the far east has only 1 road connecting it to the rest of the nation, and it has luxeries. So if we can cut the road, that would cut all the lux going to the rest of the nation.

Secondarly to preventing the persians from the iron....Immortals in our state could be serious trouble.

I think I some up the idea for this warrior in one sentence. Keep annoying and irritation persia either by being chased(becareful of roads), or pillaging or as ghengis put it, farting on their iron, though personally I might do something other than fart on their iron.

I'm inclined to suggest the warrior head west in attempts to lure the archers over.

he fortifies on that mountain and also has a river between him and the archers. He should be able to take out one, if not both archers with no problem.
