  • What to do with a Leader

    Assuming we get a leader from our war with the French, what should we use him for?

    It appears there are three choices:

    A) Build an army so that we can construct the Heroic Epic an hopefully be swimming in Leaders for years to come.

    B) Use him for a Great Wonder. I think that Sun Tzu's or J.S. Bach would be good choices, depending on our overall strategy.

    C) Build the Forbiden Palace to reduce our corruption and facilitate infrastructure.

    I think I lean toward C, but I am opening up for debate.

    C. Uber Isle might be a new continent, and if we plan on expanding, we would more than likely colonize it. Having the Forbiddin Palace on a different continent would do wonders for the cities also on it.

      If we plan on doing some more conquest after the French, which I'm in favor of, it would be nice to have an army for Uber to play with.

        The only reason we'd create an army, I think, is so we could build the wonders that require that you have an army, including one which is supposed to increase the frequency of Great Leaders. Army's are nice toys, but we really need the FP or a wonder more now, but if I could be convinced that we'd get more Great Leaders from that one Small Wonder, then I could be convinced...

          Armies tend to become obsolete fairly quickly especially with Knights and Pikemen right around the corner.

          Forbidden Palace sounds good, but I wouldn't hold out for that based on that island being a continent. It could easily be just big enough for one city site.

            Armies are obsolete, but not the ability to create them. I have fought an army of modern armor. Not fun. I would bet you it started with an army of knights or before, who were succesfull , and so more armies were to come.

              A) BUild an army so we have a greater chance of more leaders and have the ability to make the Military Academy eventually which I find to be quite useful.

              If we do build an army, which should wait to do it with knights though so it at least gets some usage during the middle ages.

                    Personally, I wouldn't do anything fast. In the long run, I'm undecided between army for the army wonders and rushing a wonder, but I'd probably wait at least another twenty turns before making any decisions, or until something good popped up.

                      Building an army and winning so we can build the heroic epic and then build it pays off in the long run.

                        I would wait to see if we get a leader before I vote for any option.

                          definitely keep him in reserve for an emergency.

                            I suggest that we start a poll. Options are:

                            * Use to build an army so we can build Heroic Epic and Military Academy.
                            * Rush a wonder (Sun Tzu's, J.S. Bach's or Leonardo's).
                            * Rush a Forbidden Palace.
                            * Keep in reserve for an emergency.

                            Length of poll: 4 days.

                              military academy?? Armies cost so much anyways you almost need a leader to rush em . The only advantage is that you can rush buy them, but they're still really expensive.
