I have come around to the upgrading side. In addition to the defense value they could be useful in the american attack. Though for the record let me ask for a mobile defense force of chariots. Earlier when I called for horsemen I had forgotten chariots upgrade to horsemen. Mobile reaction force would be best. Then the swords can go bonk some heads in america.

I think the money would be better spent rushing a temple, or some other improvement once we get put of despotism. Maybe even buying a tech.Comment

we could upgrade them , now , or wait and use the money elsewhere , ...it would be smart if they would stop the persians , ...

This may not work anymore - we might need all the money we can get for alliances. For those not in the know, Persia and Germany signed alliances with France against us. There is an avenue for an alliance with England against Germany, but it is costly, which might invalidate all spending.Comment
