Historically, when Europe first discovered the New World, monarchs weren't the only ones to attempt colon ies. There were also commercial attempts by private investors. Is there any chance we could get some members together to attempt a colonial expedition to the misty shores of Uber Island? We would need a settler and one of the galleys after they've landed their military forces on the French Coast.
No guarantee we'll find anything more than a one tile island, but considering Persia has incense and spice, there might be a possibility of that down there, or even the remote possibility of another player civ. That's the beauty of it, it's a big risky shot in the dark.
I figure members interested can join the Uber Island Trading Company (the private investors) and then we'll lobby the government to send our colonists.
