List updated. Memphis should be renamed "Loveshack".
I'd like to point out that a city name must be convenient if we want it used, rather than some barbaric acronym.
Take Banana HQ for example : you'll notice it's almost always referred as "BHQ", which completely supresses the "Banana" intent in it. On the same pattern, a name like "GF's Loveshack" will always be referred as "GFL" or "Loveshack".
Naming a city isn't difficult. Giving a name that the city can use permanently is different.

Jdd - Your suggestion, Valhala, is good, because IIRC your city is up north near the Valhala Mountains.

If I win, lets call it "Eak Gads" - I think that is how it is spelled... cansomeone from great brittan where the expression came from look and correct it if necessary.

If that doesn't work well, I can come up with several others....

            "Mooncheese" sounds good also....

            Let me know.

It's Eek, not Eak. At least in America it is

Added to my city name list.

If I win, name a city Tokyo 3.
I actually suggested that during the last turnchat when I saw one of the cities was named Geofront.
Besides, we might as well be complete about it.

If it is ok, I would like to save my name for a specific city, which we will eventually conquer: Chicago, which I would like to change to Olympus. (lots of mountains around it)

Not bad. If Civ3 actually had a concept of elevation (SMAC.. hint hint...) it would be even better

I have this bad habit of giving cities unoriginal names like "Science City" and "River City" and "Border City" so that when the popups show up I could remember which city they were talking about. I sometimes changed the names of cities as the game wore on if the cities' purpose changed.

ANYHOW, if I get to name a city, I'll take a look at where it is and what it is and come up with something creative and (hopefully) original.

I'd like to ask a question:

I was IE minister for half of the first term, but I never got to name a city. Was I just skipped over, or do I not get to name a city 'cause I was only minister half of a term!

I want to name a city!

Jonny : sorry to have skipped you. As jdd and Apoc (both part-time ministers) got to name a city, I think you can too.
Please tell us the city name you'd like
