I could devote as much time as i want to being PW Minister. But I would probably devote about 4 or more hours a day just to analyzing situations that happen throughout the game. I dont think I will miss any of the turns chats but in some freak accident and i wont be able to make it im not real sure at this exact moment as to who I would call to assume my powers during the turn chat. I think that mining of grasslands is relavant to the city. If the cities population growth is good and we have no need to farm or that city needed better production I would choose to mine more of the grasslands.

GodKing and White Bandit are also running for this post, we would love to hear from them, as well.

Decided to run for city planner instead. It will work better for me as I can do more planning and posting instead of turnchats as I have a rather booked RL schedule. Please see that thread.

Sky - can you please edit your first post to list who is running for this position. As you started the thread, please follow it and if others decice to run, add them to the list as well. Thanks.

Q: If you propose irrigation instead of mining, how do you propose to handle all the unhappyness?

Well this is a carbon copy of what I put in the election thread:

Well I suppose I should explain myself so many may get to know who I am. I've been lurking for quite awhile, but some of you may recognize me from making the random appearences in turn chats and our own Apolyton chat room.

So here I am campaigning for public works minister. I think it'd be a fun experience! Plus, my civ style is more of a builder than that of a warrior (though I do support the looming war with France). Being a builder, I'd like to think I'm pretty suited to this ministry!

I really think an important issue at the moment is to connect our cities by way of road. This gives our cities a benefit of less corruption as well as a fairly mobile military to cover the expanding flanks of our empire. Remember, once we start a major war with powers like Greece, Aztecs or the Persians, our border cities will be in jeopardy. Having a road system will help our military rapidly shore up weak spots in our defense. Also, it will allow us to reach our enemy's borders quicker as well.

Also, I think we should continue to clear away the jungles from our core cities (basically the powerhouses of the empire that will probably be our strongest cities throughout the game). The sooner we do this, the sooner our cities can take advantage of the added production.

Also, mining of mountains and any grasslands with shields is another high priority.

I'm willing to work with the people and anyone is welcome to offer me advice at any time. Please do so!

Some personal issues you may want to consider before deciding to vote for me:
I will be on vacation from August 22 until August 28. I may have access to a computer, but I will leave detailed instructions if I will not be able to have a computer.

College starts back up September 3rd, but I have Tuesdays and Thursday off, as well as the weekend, so I should be able to devote plenty of time to the game and not neglect my position.

Lastly, for those who may not neccesarily recognize me, I lead the campaign that sought to put the iron near present-day Ubergorsk in our hands!

            Thanks!
