Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
i was wondering about that too, but of course i didnt post there. i had noticed the same thread in CFC, but someone posted there. it turns out that disorganizer is using it as a test to see the obedience of the populace! i always said apolyton was more respectful. lemme find a link... here it is...
hahahahahahahaha
*Glory to Country through Strength and Honor!*
HA!!!
Well, it will be dutifully forgot about over here. Off to page 2 death in under 24 hours.

Finally someone notice :-P
Well, in fact it was an obediance test showing it took 2 days for someone to complain in the forum...
Phoenatica was unter 4 hours i think until someone replied...
No comment on wheter this is good or not :-P
Another discovery coming with it:
Threads tend to go to page 2 after less than 24hours. I think this would be a good argument for subforums.
And to armies:
Normally, our units are stationed on public consense in the cities during peacetime. The military leader is in charge of posting moval-requests to the turn-thread and therewith instructing the player-in-duty. If units come up with no instructions though, the pid can choose what to do with them (no attack, pass-thru or something. just normal moves), but normally leaves them as they are. Sometimes, only general requests (like upgrade all immortals and restation 2 in every bordercity and 1 in every inner city) are given for the pid to play out.
During wartime, the military leader or his deputy in normally present at the turnchats (we only play 2 a week). General strategy is discussed and polled at the forum, sometime even troop-movement proposals are discussed. The military leader then posts the proposals in the turn-thread (as only proposals there are sueable if not taken). As he is present in the chat, he can directly react. The playout is handled by the PID, but we already had some discussion on giving the game to the military during war, which was declined.
Today, i was pretty sad to hear that some folks in apolytonia think threads used besides the game are "useless" and "should not be there" or even "deleted".
As this thread is also a kind of "non directly game related", i would like to get public opinion on this thread in here. Maybe also with proposals how to improove it or which content to add to it.
Well, I would have suggested posting news on your own game within here, but it seems there is little news going to be comming after you beat the game. Perhaps this could be the place to begin working out a set of rules for a competitive PTW game?
There are those who simply do not like frivolous posts. There are some who may not even like this one. Bottom line is, even when some of us play out role's in this game, it is based on what is happening in the game world. Your previous thread that gained so much attention was seen as a waste of space. See it as people without sub forums and how much they treasure their space. Look at the opposition to topping this thread (though the logic is flawed since this thread has been on page one anyway, taking up the same space as if it were topped...)
Also there is alot of anxiety building up with the upcomming war. Many things can go wrong, and it weighs heavily upon the public, making them short tempered.
Will you guys be starting a new game after WED?

I totally understand the feeling of the apolytonian ppl about their importand forum space. Though the -><- is over and on page "who knows where", the discussion thread about the thread still wasts space on page 1...
But to come back to more important things:
Yes, it seems we start a new game. We already started to poll the new settings anyway.
There are also voices wanting to continue the old game so maybe we even get 2 parallel games running (the old one will be with lower participation propably, as is was already won).
IMHO,
the game was much too fast... we maybe could shift down a gear to slow chats for more decission possibilities in the forum, but this will have to be discussed.
disorganizer:
Count me as one who didn't bother posting in your thread simply because I couldn't have been bothered, not because I was being "obedient." And then, discovering your purpose, count me as one annoyed that you are took up valuable space on page 1 of our forum with what turned out to be spammish nonsense.

well, so please post you reply to spammish nonsense in the spammish nonsense reply thread .
This here is not the appropriate thread, so you could also count me as annoyed you took up valuable post-space in the embassy thread with your reply to spammish nonsense, if i would care about it.
See the difference? I dont care about "spammish nonsense".
The thread was gone from p1 after not even 24 hours, the answer thread is still there. Seems a) not much going on (which i doubt) or b) tendency is there to discuss spammish nonsense.
if b) is working, why were you so upset with my thread as the answer thread is taking a) much more space and is b) much more nonsens imho ;-)

I will not post in that thread. I want it to die. I posted here because you invited me to:

Perhaps the best solution to this problem would be to ask the gods of Apolyton to open a citizens' forum where we could post fun threads like the Jungle Gazette and non game-related threads like this thread.
There's no need to fight over such things.

I agree, Subforums are WAY to valueble an asset, in CFC we were able to live w/o it for a while, but once the game got going it was a requirement. Imagine what will happen when you've got a massive empire, esp. concidering the agressive game you're playing. Even without such threads as this which others feel as "useless" and I find a valueble asset, the chaos will likely be 5 times this.
I normally post 2-3 polls per war to figure out what public opinion is and determine what type of tactics we should research.
Not to mention Role playing is a very important part of the "fun factor" of the game, which is limited in a 1 forum game.
Five-Star General in the CFC Demogame (Military Leader)
i agree subforums made our lives at cfc easier, as at times we had none it was total chaos at our first big campaign and on elections.
but at the moment, even we discuss having "index threads" on the forums and only some threads with stickyness. this is discussed because we have about 15 city-threads in the government forum for example + 12 sticky province threads + the (i think 10?) departmental threads. All of those are important and so need a quick link for reference.
Also, the roleplaying part which is about to start at our next game (hopefully) will also give high thread-counts on our forum.
Our forum at the moment has about 1047 threads with a total of 18083 posts.
As the game is running since march now (4,5 months), this is 232 threads a month, which is 7 new threads each day!
as we started very slow on the thread count, i assume (i have no numbers) this value is up to 15-20 a day now (if not much more).
I think i can forecast and bet on it that the apo thread count will go rapidly up with the size of the nation.
But one thing we noticed:
Changing to subforums during the game was a real pain and gave us a big drawback on the citizen count, as ppl didnt find their things in the "right" places. After a month, ppl got used to it and flocked to the game.
Also, the roleplaying part which is about to start at our next game (hopefully) will also give high thread-counts on our forum.
Actually I'm not that sure right now. My helpers aren't corporating much and it's hard to get stuff done. Stuck, BCLG, and Ehecatl are the only one's who's doing anything and stuck can't get much done, because this guy named disorganizer keeps on popping up with extended bank options.
