  • Hawk Party: Manifesto

The predicament that this great nation is in is beyond serious. Bickering among incompetent government ministers is at an all time high, and with growing fears of Code Pink/ Teal/ Blue's practicality, it is clear that the veteran and knowledgeable must take over the desperate situation that has grasped Apolyton by the throat.

The Hawk Party (THP) is a political party that aims to achieve dominance through military and scientific prosperity. Its unique outlook on both peace and war-time situations and crisis is a viable reason for voting THP in itself, but I would ask voters to consider its other political beliefs and policies, before rushing to vote.

THP is not only dedicated to jump- starting this struggling nation from fear to pride through its vast military, but also to promote scientific and financial/ trade benefits to fund its operations.

Just to make it clear, THP is not in favour of building barracks over marketplace, or walls over temples; but will instead implement a strategy of dominance over pacifism. THP will not stand by and watch other cultures develop around it without putting up a valiant fight, whether it be through the use of the sword or the pen.

THP WILL STRIVE to ensure domination, pride and prosperity for its people, its culture and its survival, at any cost, as will the THP ensure the defence of such an established nation with equal measures.

The quote 'The best defence is a good offence' has been bouncing back and forth over the past couple of weeks; and it will resurface many more times. THP cannot stress the importance of this statement enough.

I have created this thread not as spam, but to define and represent THP members and policies, and to provide a manifesto of considerable detail for the voting public. I leave this thread open to more topical debates, additions and amendments to the THP, and hope that other political beliefs and parties convey their opinions in another thread.

We need four main political policies drawn up on the following subjects:

    1) Military and Foreign Affairs Policy
    2) Scientific Policy
    3) Trade, Growth and Expansion Policy
    4) Culture and City Policy

    Where:
    1) Outlines main policies regarding military size, military budget, diplomatic negotiation policies, military unit: city ratio etc.
    2) Outlines scientific aims (militaristic, expansionist), science budget etc.
    3) Outlines growth and city population policies, diplomatic trading, aquiring trade routes, outlining expansion theories and policies etc.
    4) Outlines details of construction and general city improvements, culturual policies etc.

These are all pretty simple, but allow a lot of depth where candidates/ ministers/ members can voice their opinions and allow debates upon pressing matters and issues.

These are some VERY deep and involved questions, difficult to draw up.

I would suggest that in the ever changing world, specific plans, goals, and policies are impossible to adhere to as a party. Instead, we should focus not on specific goals and numbers, but on general statements on each of these topics to allow ourselves flexibility and therefore strength.

"Alive, man is pliant and weak
Dead, he is firm and strong.
There is nothing on the earth more pliant and weak than water, yet nothing is better for cutting into the firm, hard, ground." - Sun Tzu
One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin

should our scientific policy be to achieve scietific advancements to produce the best military units for given goals, ie attacks on other civs, etc.?
I am uninformed therefore i only add randomness to the vote.

At this point in time, things are still quite chaotic both in game and in our government. Once we solidify our position on this continent and get all the kinks out of our democracy then we can start policy making.
