  • About the Turnchats...

In todays turnchat (4th july) only one minister (Spiffor) and our Vice President were present...

IMHO I think that if all you other ministers (and our Prez Trip) knew that you would not be able to make it, then we should have waited with the turnchat...

or maybe have posted the day in a better-readable colour ;-)
maybe we just make too many chats per week at the moment, so the chat gets worn up.

yeah...but still, is that an excuse...if people think there are to many turnchats a week the we should cut em down to one a week...if something as important as the turnchats does´nt work....then we should work it out...right?

The representation of the goverment is vital for the turnchats...

As I stated in three threads, I said I would be gone possibly during the turnchats, I apologize. Gotta hate ISPs when they get angry.

No need to apologize... I just thought everything got a little bit out of hand when for the beginning of the turnchat the only dudes present were me Timeline and I think three other guys, and after a while some more peeople joined (including Spiffor), at that point i think the turnchat maybe should have been cancelled, not to downgrade Timelines performance as Vice Prez because IMO he did a great job...

Then maybe we should have them later... I live in sweden and for me the Turnchats starts at 2200 hours (10 p.m?) and that´s a very good time for me and I could not dream of making it to the Chats if it began at 4, no way.... but if we´ll move them up for say 2 hours it might be easier for all ya´ll in the states (you are from the states right?) maybe we should have a poll?

I can normally do chats at 2100-2300 or so GMT (8-10 am here), but NOT at many other times that were suggested. This last one was totally out of the question for anyone in Oz and NZ (all asleep) and likely most of Europe.

It starts at 9am for me at NZ, but I get up early so it's not really a problem for me

But Aussies would have a prob, they'd have to get up, 6-7am.

Maybe we should tweak the times the chat is on so that we can get as many ppl as we can to be there, especially the ministers

When Trip made the poll, 20:00 GMT and 22:00 GMT were so close, we felt it was a good idea to make a compromise. I fear most NZ-Aussies-Asians are left out this way... But we can't have veryone at the same time, sadly.

The options were 2000 GMT, 2200 GMT, and "Neither". Neither got 0 votes. Yep, none. 2100 is the time that I see being acceptable for both NA and Europe, where 95% of our members are from.

But the question remains...why was it such a low attendance at yesterdays turnchat?
If the reason is that it´s tough to make every chat as a minister I seriously think we should cut em back too 1 or maybe 1.5 a week, the ministers are the core of a turnchat it´s you guys who make the "on site" decisions, if you guys are´nt all present then we would have to make a poll every time something important happened... but because ministers exist we don´t have to do that because we (the citizens) voted on you so that we ´don´t need such a direct democracy (that´s a translation of the swedish word I don´t know if it´s correct) because as we have it now we have a representive democracy were all minor decisions are made by the ministers, if we are to keep it that way ALL the ministers must bee present at the chat otherwise you have abused the peoples trust...

Prehaps some of our American officials were not present because they were out celebrating Independance Day?
