Should playing ahead be allowed?

this not what it is about , the real deal is the sav , and the fact about the stratigic planning office , no-one talked about playing ahead , ....


and with the sav , some people shall do so , on their own , playing ahead that is , and that is a good , thing , as long as they play ahead , on their comp , the way they see it as individuals , and then they can compare with the game , it shall be fun , ...

This IS the main reason why some are against all of us having the save (me included), and I hope punkbass and other supporters of the save-for-all idea take note that some ppl do seriously consider playing ahead.

Panag - if you want to play at your own pace, why don't you do that in your OWN game. What's the point in playing ahead in a game where we are all making the decisions? It opposes the very IDEA of a Democratic game.

No Way! We could find every possible perumation of events and calculate the best path based on foresight. If ONLY real governments could be run that way, but unfortunatly for politicians and fortunatley for us intense civ3 players theyre not.

Hmmm, was there a clause in the Apolytionian Constitution regarding death penalty for those cheaters?

Anyway, we all could have use of looking at the actual situation at any time, and so to make up a fair opinion on matters... I think freeing the savegame, and tightening the [ ] hangman's noose, is a good solution!

remeber who started this thread and why it was made , ...

now , for the last time it was suggested that the strategic intel and planning office should do a job , and what is intel , what is stratigic , planning ahead , ....not there for playing the game , but to see , how would this go , and that , basiccaly like in the real world , creating intel , so that when something happens , you can say , well this and that happend there and her , ....

is this so difficult to understand , ....nope , it aint , ...

and before someone start's to say , yeah but you wrote this or that , and you said this or that , ...no problem , but you sometimes have to see the whole pic , and not just take a person(s) on a certain word or so , ....

anyway , no-one talked about playing ahead , something was said , and some-one else , started to talk , "what , playing ahead" , that was never the intention , ...

anyway , have a nice , great , wonderfull day , night , where-ever you are

Here's a solution...

Restrict all save games that occurred in the last ten turns. If someone wants a ten turn old save, that's fine, because they won't be able to play out the same way that our President did. Thus, their results of playing ahead won't be close enough to what we're currently doing to inform us of what we should do.

If ten turns isn't enough, make it something else. Just an old save game where results of playing ahead won't be relevant.

What do you think of this compromise?
