    science>trade>military>entertainment>building maintenance

As for deficits and net gains, during times of peace I make sure to have a positive income, though if we have a medium amount of money breaking even is okay. A deficit is acceptable during wartime (though if the budget is low we might have to break even), and it is also acceptable if we are trying to get a certain technology quickly, but we shouldn't have a negative income for long.

As the only candidate on any ballot affiliated with STOP..Society To Oppose Politics (previously the Opposition Party), here are my answers to Spiffor

      1. priorities are

      1. science
      2. culture
      3. trade
      4. happiness
      5. military

Military is low because my belief is in a smaller efficient high tech military(science & trade are needed to get here), but never should we allow our military to become substandard, we can't rely on the AI doing the rational thing and keep the peace with us.

      2. Couthouses are important, but not early on. As the Civ spreads out, it becomes important to add courthouses to cities far away from the palace and the FP, the further cities get the courthouse right away, closer in cities can get it later.

      3. I'm not sure exactly what you mean hear. I have no intention of sitting quietly to the side, if I feel we need to pursue more money. I can work with others, but my ultimate responsibility is to the civ not to the individual ministers.

      4. I beleive in specialists, but I don't necessarily believe in using them. If I have a problem with happiness in one city, I beleive that one city can use an entertainer....instead of upping entertainment to 10% or 20%. Its cheaper. If we have a lot of problems with happiness....thats when I go to the slider. As for taxman, he's OK to use when balancing an individual cities happiness, instead of using entertainer, I can get some balance in happiness and also some money in the coffers. I would not use a taxman otherwise until the city is fully working its land. Scientists, in the same way, but I would probably use Taxman first...unless I was pushing forward to reach a certain advance in the short term.

      5. Yes I beleive in bananas, I had one with my cereal this morning.

Oh yeah, about specialists. When there is civil disorder, I turn one of the unhappy citizens into an entertainer. But normally I don't use them. i believe more in productivity. I rarely use scientists because I don't think they're worth it-unless all of the squares that produce a good amount of production are being worked. And about the names, I could've sworn trip called it Minister of Economy, and he's the pres, so...

Trip suggested (and I agree with him) that ministry of finance and ministry of trade should be melted into the ministry of economy.
But, as the people decided there would be 2 separate ministers, the ministry of trade and the ministry of finance remain distinct.
Trip is not the boss here. The only boss is the people of the Apolyton Democracy !

                priorities:
                science
                culture
happiness (but I will sacrifice luxuries for sciece unless we really need them)
                trade
                military

By the way, the only power that this position will have officially (at least so far) is the science/lux rates....

No one seemed to notice this post of mine on the first page:
Hey, I'm running for finance minister too! I believe in giving 10% to luxuries as soon as our cities start getting to size 9 or 10 or we go republic. Science should be up, but if we can gain 30 gold per turn at the cost of only 2 turns for science I say do it! I will ALWAYS check to see if our tech could take the same amount of time at a lower rate, so our treasury stays filled!
