  • Military Commanders: Official

This is intended to be the official poll on whether we should have military commanders. To find out what I mean by that, look here. Moral Hazard pointed out that it would be unfair to have a poll that didn't state when it would end at the beginning and didn't expire (as this would allow whoever posted the poll to sort of "fix" the results), so this poll will expire next Friday. Please note that I don't think this should be implemented immediately, just that the Minister of War or the President should have the option of implementing it if needed.

Hmm I think the last one was better. What you can do is declare that the votes will be collected on the issue 48hrs or more before you do. So you could still use the last poll. You just have to specify an ending date.

I think that military commanders will put too many chefs in the kitchen so to speak. One person can handle the job and will have a better vision of the overall stategy of the war.

              I can say a firm YES !

(I voted for the first yes, for the reasons I stated in the other thread)

If there was a 'no' on this poll I would vote for it. Instead I voted for 'yes' #2.

I said yes, but only in the late game when we have a very large empire and so many units that it's worthwhile dividing up the responsibility. (This would be more useful if they could actually control the units - instead the President has to do it all anyways.)

Then again, I also think it'd be neat if we had "mayors" for each city whose sole job it was to promote their cities welfare (even if at the expense of other cities or the feds - just like real life). Of course, ministers wouldn't have to listen to mayors. It would just give some citizens their own little roles to play and give them some other reasons for voting the way they do. "What? You rush built a temple and library in Flin Flon but you won't rush build a marketplace for Toronto???"

Or instead of mayors, citizens can pick 'hometowns' - gives some ownership and adds a bit of fun. As it is, all the cities are the same - just boring centres for production.

For now I dont see any need for them but I suggest we repoll on this one later in the game.

(when we actualy have some units )

anything that takes power away from the citizen would make the game LESS fun. more polls - less government posts.
