  • organize us!

as first thing, i would like to push ppl to organizer this forum.
    to the mods:
can we get subforums here? how many can we get?

    example:
    1 subforum each for:
    polls:
    only polls allowed there
    government:
only departments and provicial threads allowed there
    informational:
informational threads, like history, citizen list, savegames etc.
    archive:
all obsolete threads (e.g. old elections) can be moved there

we would also urgently need a thread for requesting mods to top threads or do other things for us (like move threads)

thats all for now. your ideas? also mod-comments welcome!

    damn right.
all the polls in one spot and regular updates plz. During play we will need a citizen information channel for viewing of screen shots, reports etc. - I'm new to this, but what a damn fine idea that was.

I support this idea. It is hard to see what you have done/read already. Organizing it a bit would help.

A good Idea at present things are very hard to follow. As far as I can tell nothing has been decided yet.

You should have made a poll.

I agree, and one very important thing is to make a sub-forum for all the polls that have been made actual decisions...everything just seem to bee a big mess now...
            You saw what you wanted
            You took what you saw
We know how you did it

Good ideas, but I don't think things has got out of hands yet, and I doubt Ming will be willing to move threads in here all the time.

I say that we let it be for a while. It't just very mush in the beginning. If things don't get better we might have to ask Markos.

unnecesary, I've found it easy to keep up with everything.

we would need our own moderator though...putting em all in the archive and keeping everything stright would take a lot of work to put on MarkG or Ming, with all their other stuff they have to do...

we could cut out the archive, thats why we discuss ;-)
and all other proposed subforums will not need moving (just 1 time at the beginning though) if we behave (means: we post things in the right places).
a own mod for the demo will be neccessary, as civ3 is much more complicated than civ2 and things will easily go out of hand (see c*v*a*a*i*s demogame).

                    and one thing:
things may be easy and findable now, but we still are in the pre-game phase. we will easily get more than 50 new threads a day in a hot phase of the game (like war). you will then not be able to find the new posts on the first page any more, for example.
if we start later to reorganize, things will get messy during change and ppl get disappointed and annoyed with the game.

I highly doubt we'll get more than 15 new threads a day on a busy day. maybe well over 100 posts, but not so many threads as those that are started will be started by a minister and labled official. (most people will just go to those and skip the rest)

EDIT: what's with the stat thing below our avatar?

so only officials will be allowed to post threads? well, i think the most interesting threads will be the citizens-threads, as there are much more citizens than officials ;-)

no, sorry if Im not entirely clear right now (I've been awake for too long, again) The important threads, such as what to research and what to attack will be started by the ministers. (at least it should work that way, as that is how it works at the Civ2 Demo-Game)
