We haven't actually polled the Ottoman war, so I propose the following bill:
Poll lasts three days.
The senate hereby authorizes a war against the evil Ottoman Empire.

I feel this war is necessary to our survival. We can expand our borders, acquire Iron, and further punish those who dared stunt our growth.
They have good land, and will become a threatening neighbor if we don't prune them sufficiently; and, if pushed back to that tundraish area, they could be a good vassal.
