  • Our Government is Drunk

I just witnessed in the turnchat:

Attack on the Ottoman city of Iznik:
    • Veteran Archer attacks Spearman and wins (promotion to Elite, 1 hp left)
    • Regular Archer attacks Spearman and looses (no hp damage to Spear)
    • Regular Warrior attacks Spearman (!!) and WINS (?!)

Ottomans make peace for Iznik and add 40 gold to it.

Fortunately, the Ottoman defense general wasn't sober, either.
    Greatest moments in cat:

Mead. Here in Viking land we drink Mead. And we like it!

Yes, a large gamble, but it paid off.

In future, I guess we shouldn't be so...bold. But, hell, we're berserks! If we were sissified Ottomans, maybe we'd be a bit more flappy and gentile when we attack. But, look, we're only slightly-civilized after all, and what we really want to do is kill everybody, or at least get killed and go to Valhalla. So, right now, a little mead before the battle doesn't hurt.

But in future, yeah, maybe a little bit more planning would work just as well.

Actually, I think sending those warriors to attack the city was a good idea; seeing huge hulking warriors wielding masive stone axes slaughtering their garrison probably terrified the Ottomans into surrendering the city.

the problem is the plans take too long. i was given a miniarmy, and one of the archers didn't do his job. the warrior stepped up and won somehow

                  (nods)

Aye, true, true. It is a good thing to go in and kill everyone without really thinking about it. If one goes around pondering the deeper meaning of life, it takes all the fun out of sticking an axe into someone's back, doesn't it? In that case, I guess going in madly really isn't such a bad idea after all.

Nukklearikken, my old walrus brother! I haven't seen you in Thor's time! Have some mead, old chap! Wanna wrassle?

I enjoy killing kittens. Ottoman kittens, that is. A good, swift whack of the old battleaxe does the trick. Have to stock up on the old flugsvamp, though, otherwise I might actually want to pet the things before I chop them in two.

Yo-ho for the life of a Viking!

That warrior was born 1000 years too soon. And it will never be upgraded into a berserk.

Calc, any warrior who goes into the sort of crazy attitude that Thag does most certainly is berserk...

Trust me. Have you ever eaten with him?
