  • What's the probablity of victory at Diety?

I commend you for your bravery (or maybe condemn you for foolhardiness) for choising Diety level. The probablity of succes in an SP game dictates the riskiness of the strategy (in MP your oppenents might be anticipating this)

I've usually lost at this level, and I haven't found the play in the Demo game any better than mine, so my guess for the probably of victory is 25%.

    With 24 Civ's...not much of a chance

With 12 it gets to 25%

    With 8 a little better 33%

These are just my opinions and not based on fact, since no facts can be drwan from such a proposal/question.

I have won on deity, more than once. We have a good civ, and a team that will not let the little things slip.... I give us better than 50%

You've got it all wrong - it's not whether you can win or not, but how many civs you take down with you.

Screw aiming to win for the moment, I just want to kill things first.

We have a MUCH better chance than anyone on earth in single player. Everything is put under a microscope. We draw pictures, we do math. I can hardly win this game at all because I'm a total ass at it, but the group mentality works here.

It's either You Win or You Lose. So - that's 50%.

I agree with MWIA. But I do think we have a %50+ chance to win. And even if we don't I don't see us being eliminated. We might lose but not be eliminated. I'll feel much more sure of this after we get 2 more cities running. However, I have never played with 24 civs at
ANY level(I didn't know how), so this is somewhat new to me.

the thing is we can kick and scream for years we could always have adequate defenses against several AIs for the longest time, especially if w'ere ging with tight cities early on.

we're definately going to be the ottomans, in time. we'll probably subjigate them, take them for money and techs, then eradicate them 20 turns later.

then, we'll be in a position to pick a next target. all our neighbors have rockin' early UU's though.

I'll agree about warfare, that's definately the best shot we have, but it's gonna take alot of luck, too.

I'd say 50% for an averagely-good player. However, being a team and with the detail you guys are known for I think you can pull those odds to 75% or above
