  • First turnchat - 1000GMT / 0500 Poly time - PLEASE READ

The first turnchat of the second Democracy game for Civilization 3 is scheduled to start on Wednesday at 1000GMT/0500 EST. Keep in mind these are not the actual starting times for the regions that normally use these timezones, as you guys are in daylight saving. The real times are below.

    Chat time

    London (GMT + 1) - 1100 Wednesday
    Apolyton time (GMT - 5) - 0500 Wednesday
    New York (GMT - 4) - 0600 Wednesday
    Sydney/Melbourne (GMT + 10) - 2000 Wednesday
    Wellington (WIA timezone) (GMT + 12) - 2200 Wed.

More times can be found using this link.

We are using PtW version 1.14f and will be in the DALNet chatroom #civ3dem.

Provisional date for the second chat is on Saturday evening GMT/EST. More to follow.

Detailed Information for those new to the Demo Game

This chat will be the first few turns played of the save included below. You may open the save if you wish but please do not play any turns until I do in the chat. Then you may only play along with us in the chat or look at the save without making movements/declarations of war or peace/alterations to the save. After the chat the latest save file will be placed in a topped thread in this forum, the
    Civilization 3 Democracy game forum.

We are playing with version 1.14f of Civilization 3 add the Play the World add-on. Opening the save in any other version of the game will result in unpredictable differences from the "official" game. The patch of version 1.14f of Play the World is available from the Civ3 Patch Center here .

To access the chat for those who have not done so before, we are using DALNet until the Apolyton chatrooms work again. You can access the chatroom #civ3dem using this link (thanks Uber)!

Me: But the turnchat wasn't finished yet, I had to place our second city down, didn't I?

    Boss: You're fired!

I hope that it won't be more than 1.5, all up. We know what our first moves are, and it's not like there's far we can go before we need to stop and discuss.

        MY GOD THAT'S EARLY!

I hope you get a few people to show up, either way, you're going to want to take screenshots of the first few moves so that those who aren't there (most of the team) can see the beautiful ... stunning ... mystifying map that BFM and I made.

We're very curious about where you plan to put your first city, and look forward to reading the arguments and debate about it in the forum.

First city is already planned, see the DM thread. I will have a full map there as long as I am able to fit it as well.
