  • Jaguar Warrior looks wrong!

Firaxis need a history consult. Jaguar Warriors in Anauak had to wear Jaguar skins - when an Eagle Warrior was promoted to the Jaguar Warrior status, he killed a jaguar and weared his skin.
While the Jaguar Warrior at civ3.com is wearing something blue, and has something on his head. Eagle Warrior have Eagle things on the head, not Jaguar ones.

Jaguar Warrior were most respected in society, lived in the best houses, etc.

It would probably be easier for them to change the name of this unit to Eagle Warrior than to change the animation to include a jaguar skin. Hope that they take this into account.

The blue on all of the units is just the substitute for a civ's color. It's for placement.

          I think it looks fine.

It makes the situation even worse. Then, there might be a red jaguar warrior. Absurd. Where's the jaguar skin?

They can't make it an Eagle Warrior. Eagle Warriors were existant all over the place - for Mayans, and sometimes for Incans, while the Jaguar Warrior status, was unique to the Aztecs.

Ayyy... I like the JW the way it is and I think what's absurd is complaining about colours.
How about French people starting a thread like "French civ looks wrong! We are not pink".

If you look carefully at his crotch () you can see a jaguar loin cloth.

Just because he isn't decked out in jaguar skin doesn't mean he will unbalance the game (though others will disagree).

Also, before I forget, look carefully at the Jag's stats. It will replace a chariot, which the Aztecs didn't have. And you say that Firaxis isn't paying attention to history.

Reminds me of the movie Resevoir Dogs-

"Why do I have to be Mr. Pink"

It's rather unacceptable for the forums to continue, but those who have seen the movie will know what I mean

I think the French should protest heavily... a Pink civilization with Jeanne d'ark as a leader?

I wouldn't wish those two to my worst enemy

UberKruX: Based on many of your simplistic responses, I got to ask you this. Do you have any knowledge of the rules.txt file? I think you would amazed at how much Civ2 could and had been customized in the past 5 years. You (and many others) sounds like you don't have a clue as to how much Civ3 can and will be customized.

Come on, so what's the problem? It could be to attract the girls to civ3. Besides, I even like pink, and that doesn't take any hair off my chest.

That's true, civ2 is highly customizable and civ3 will be even more, and easier to do. You'll be able to change names, colours, movement rates, units, CSUs, make great MODs, everything good life has to offer. So no worries.

PGM, some folks think that everything must be perfect and right without modifications. Little do they know that what they think is right would be wrong for others. Thankfully, Solver can have his JW look like a spotted cat while I'll make mine look like Monty Montezuma.
