I will play them as they were designed by Firaxis. It's nice to have civs that are different from each other and if I want to change my play style I can choose a civ that will give me an advantage. Also, if I want a bigger challenge I can choose a civ that has non-military advantages and choose all military civs for my opponents. I wonder if it would be possible to edit those bonuses to set up a scenario where you have great religious or cultural bonuses but really heavy military bonuses. That could be a kind of pacifist scenario where you have to stay alive through diplomacy.Formerly known as Masuro.

Yes and if I like them i'll keep them on.It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

I really like the idea of civ-specific abilities. While the civs won´t be as distinct from each other as the SMAC factions, the slightly different strategies suitable for each civilization will certainly add to the replay value of Civ3.
And I´m looking forward to playing as the Religious-Industrious Egyptians."As far as general advice on mod-making: Go slow as far as adding new things to the game until you have the basic game all smoothed out ... Make sure the things you change are really imbalances and not just something that doesn't fit with your particular style of play." - WesW

For sure I will use them. I really appreciated it that in AC the everyone was different. Also for Civ it will give an even better feeling that the other leaders have some personality. It will make it that the choice is not negative, if I choose green, I know there are no Zulus, but positive, what kind of special feature and/or special unit and/or time for golden age I want to try now?
Ofcourse after half a year or so, editing will start. Probably some expansion pack and for sure quite some user produced countries will flood around.

I am going to use them until I need to do otherwise.
As for how it is going to impact the game - I think it will help the game last. For years people will be building and tweaking the perfect civ. Instead of having one civ with different names, we actually have 16 different civs and that is only until the mod and scenarios makers get ahold of this and make so many more.
I really also believe that it will help scenario makers. They will be able to force the computer ai to focus on certain things and give them a bonus in certain areas. Certainly something that will aid developement.About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes.
