  • AU 504 Glory of Culture DAR 7 - Modern Endgame

What challenges did you face trying to secure your cultural victory in the modern era? Did any AIs present special obstacles to your efforts at victory? And if so, how did you overcome those obstacles?

I guess I am the only player thus far to finish in the Modern Era!!!

    Friggin' Iroquois!

I'll go back and do my DARs, but suffice it to say that I had to change my goals: cultural win, and keep the Red Injuns from 100k cp!!! (and end without a single unit :snicker: )

    Best KAI I've seen yet.

Great game, and thanks for setting it up, Nathan!!
The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

This DAR fell into oblivion as my game and pathetic win...

I don't intend to be offensive or mean or anything, but are you sure you won? You need double the nearest civs culture for a civ-wide culture win and the Arabs had ~70% of your culture total.

Don't know, don't care. The moment I hit the 100'000 mark, I quit.

Yoy are right in the sense that the programme tells you 'you win' when you have the double culture of the next civ, but I understood the AU win is when you hit the 100'000 culture.

          Anyway for me.

The goal of the course is to get a 100K cultural victory, which does require having double the coulture of the nearest rival. Just getting 100K culture isn't enough. Of course with only a single opponent left with only a single city, playing the game out until you reach double the culture of the Arabs would just be a formality, and it's understandable if you don't want to waste the time for that formality.
