In my view, "Because your current crack habit just isn't intense enough," is cute, but comparing a game to use of an illegal drug is also just a little bit offensive. I'm not sure how good having that for a motto would be for Apolyton University's image.

I agree with nathan on that, as it was more of a joke suggestion to begin with. If it were to win, though, it could be modified to remove the crack reference. Substitute "Civ addiction" for "crack habit", for instance.Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui

imho "learn, build, conquer" doesn't really say what AU is about. you do that in every civ3 game anyhow.
perfecting your game is based on 2 things:
- strategy (long term optimization)
- micromanagement (short term with huge impact on the longer run)- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity
- Atheism is a nonprophet organization.

My favorite is in Second Place!
Yea!!!!!
"Apolyton University: Because your current crack habit just isn't intense enough."*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta

Um - NM - a little bit of patience with the poll deadline would have been nice. I really can't believe you are Canadian.
Good poll though.
+1 to Learn, Build, Conquer. Nice, succint, catchy.Last edited by Beta; August 15, 2004, 22:50.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

I voted for "the art of civ", but "learn, build, conquer" was a close second.
I ran it through a english --> latin translator and it loosely came up to:
percepi, construxi, vici
or
"I learned, I built, I conquered"
My latin is about as good as my mandarin chinese, but that's my new favorite...

+1 to Learn, Build, Conquer, although I quite like the Latin version that funked suggested (if correct).
I concur that references to 'crack addiction' might be, errr, counter-productive. But it's funny as hell. The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.
Duas uncias in puncta mortalis est.
