    (sorry, I didn't see the naval bombardment thread so I just posted a new one)

    I was wandering around in the editor when I came across the unit flag "collateral damage". It turns out that with this flag checked, if a unit (when bombarding) successfully takes off a hitpoint from an enemy unit, it ALSO has a chance to (if it is outside a city) destroy a terrain improvement underneath or (if inside a city) kill a pop point or improvement. If we give all the naval bombarding units this flag, then the AI bombarding cities with units in them wouldn't be a problem because they'd hit improvements too.

    As for collateral damage, it works only for normal attacks, not for bombardment.

      That have been fixed in a beta patch, or will be fixed soon.

      I don't like the idea of giving naval bombardment collateral damange. That is too much.

        Battleships and cruisers should cause collateral damage, given the size of guns mounted, destroyers and less should not
