So… what next? Well, obviously fill out the southern map with Incan towns, back to the basics in terms of infrastructure, and get ready to take on the Vikings… that meant Cavs, building on my mobile force, so I decided to use my slowmover attack units as MPs.

The good news, of course, was that some of the bad boys from the western continent were already at war with them.

I was ready to declare in 1550 AD, and did so by joining an MA against Scandy with the Ottomans.

[BTW, does anyone know if doing that, joining an MA, versus just declaring war, has any salvaging effect on your rep and AI attitudes in terms of know-broken multi-turn deals?]

The war was done in 1645AD, when I had captured all of the Viking cities in the south, leaving them on their original peninsula. Although I lived in mortal fear of it, their was only one amphib attack of 3 Berserks, which I was able to fend off.

I also entered the modern era that turn, and started research on Steam Power.

Another builder’s respite for a while and then I had planned to eradicate the three Indian cities on what was rapidly becoming MY continent… but, upon completion of SP in 1705 AD, and given that I now had a standing force of 30 Knights, I decided to loop back for a 5 turn Mil Trad.

More war stories to come!! The Indians obviously, but I was also dying to get my hands on that Mongol straggler city on the Scandy peninsula… five spices, yum yum yum!! J

But I’ve got some big problems to deal with. The Ottoman expansion, obviously, but look:
