      i only see the special overlap in the map editor, but not in the game
      I'm 49% Apathetic, 23% Indifferent, 46% Redundant, 26% Repetative and 45% Mathetically Deficient.

        I believe most of the special pattern widths divide evenly into the widths of the standard size maps used by the game, making the patterns seamless at the 0 degree meridian.

        Elephant,

        You can get a lot of strange lineups by also varying map widths, but since patterns are clipped at the meridian, it is very unlikely (I don't dare say impossible!) that doing this while varying the seed will give you a map with 5 specials within the range of one city. Keep trying, though! I'd love to see an actual example of this "myth".

          Look at Elephant's picture. If the field left beyond the buffalo would be gras, it could be a hidden special - et voila!

            It can't be a hidden special, it's not in the pattern.
