Huts in city radius

I sometimes found cities before opening a hut that is on the city radius of the new city.
I never noticed barbs form that hut.
In most cases there was a unit (archer, legion etc), sometimes gold.
What are your experiences? Can barbs appear?

No Barbs don't appear from huts within city limits...but be careful that your workers don't use the village tile or the hut vanishes!

Yes, I hate it when there are 8 grasslands and even a few on a river and it chooses the square the hut is on (not on a river) when you build the new city and *poof* no more hut.

And for the record you can't get a nomad out of the hut/city if it's in a city area also.

Hehe, I never experienced this in SP, but one of my early MP games it happened. My opponent (can't remember who) p*ssed himself, but I was unamused.

Sort of thing you only do once.

just the other day vs rah and the boys....i had a hut in the radious..with tones of forest...like 8 different squares to work with....and the city puts the second worker on the one forest square of the eight that contained the hut.....

i was pissed, i should have just popped it with my settler
