  • What Would You Like to Find in Your First Goodie Hut?

Realistically, I always hope for a two-movement unit to expedite exploration and enable me to tip more goodie huts.

Ideally, I'd love to receive Monarchy.

Well... If I already have my first city down, I would take a non settler, or a free city... If not, a two movement unit would be nice

If I haven't placed it down yet, just give me that two movement non unit

yup what he said.... to be more specific i would like a chariot or elephant from a hut with a city down......

i will take the non settler over the city but really now....... who wants to be greedy

If its a high shield city down i will take 100g to pump out a couple of settlers before size two takes effect.

if its science then i will take alphabet with cheers and WC with jeers

But most of all if i have a city down i will take a non unit to go after my unfortunate neighbor can you say second city toast!

It's hard to beat those NON settlers, but who could argue with a village that teaches you monarchy? Apolytoners seem to loath archers, but a NON archer for your first city is good - no need to build a defender for a few centuries at minimum = more time to build what you want.

            Nomads.
It seems advanced tribes are always a square off, like next to a river instead of on it.

"but who could argue with a village that teaches you monarchy?"

When we play MP we restart if host has techs. If my fist hut is monarchy, I'm in big trouble, since it means I didn't find any huts early.

I'm with Ming and War4 on this one, (and it seems most others)
Non-2-movement unit if before first city. (an archer to protect my cap is almost as good)

Nomad after. But I won't whine about a city.
              More 2-movements units,
              Any tech that I'm researching.
100 gold is underated. Buying up settlers early can make a big diff.

2-move non-unit for the first two huts. After that, the tech I'm currently researching, a couple more 2-move non-units or 100 gold would be nice. Problem is, 100 gold is rare. Usually you get 50 or 25.

                  Depends on the game:

                  Normal game- settlers
Duel type game- offensive military unit 2x movement pref.

100 gold - as in every other hut too.

A chariot. An early two-move unit can help you find and tip more huts, which can yield more units, who tip more huts...

Exploring the map early helps in a lot of ways, and having several fast units is the best way to explore. The chariot can also double as a barb killer if necessary.

I prefer the Settlers to getting a City, since usually the City is in a bad location. When I get a City from a hut in a bad location, I have it build a settler at Pop 1 and found a new city in a better location, or happy to get NON Settler to do work.

A 2 move unit is always nice for your first hut for more tipping, as mentioned in other posts.

                            100 gold. Must be nice.

New settlers and units (except horsemen) always come in-handy.
However, you need 50gp or 100gp when you want to build a wonder and just dont have the money to build it.
