Should Microprose release civ2 FW executable file to all MGE owners?
Perhaps you will understand it better if you
read some of the threads below (especially the one about "Is MGE or me?").
In brief: civ2 MGE AI is extremely aggressive in single player mode, to the point that it renders some of the scenarios included on the CD pointless, because they are supposed to be played with some AI working as allies. But as it is, the AI will start brawling (is that the correct word?) at you inmediately. This is starting to look as a bug.
Possible solutions were to use the old civ2 exe (fortunately that I have it) but then I cannot play the scenarios on the CD.
This could be solved with the FW executable, I believe.
Therefore, I think Microprose is in the obligation of releasing the civ2 FW executable or at least allow it to be published in the web so we, the users of MGE, can play civ2 as it was supposed to be.
After all, they did not tell ANYWHERE in the box that they will tweak the AI so badly!
Tell here what you think.
