  • Mac versus PC game play

I have been playing on my PC, the Civ II Gold edition, and it seems when I go to my son-in-laws house and play Civ on his Mac, I have a harder time of it. Is this my imagination? How about the OCC players or other challenges, do you find any evidence that the PC game is different from the Mac edition game? If so, what differences have you noticed? Thanks for any comments or help you can offer.
Before you criticize your enemy, walk a mile in his shoes. Then if he gets really angry at your criticism, you are a mile away, and he is barefoot.

    Yes and no.

Sometimes I can't get the research rate in OCC that others get.Despite the EXACT same city site and maximum science, scientists and gifting.I don't really think this is a platform difference.Rather, different conditions in my game.I have played several OCC games over and never quite get the same numbers.

It does appear that there may be some differences in barbarian activity.

Speculation at best.It should show up in MP but I don't think all MAC players are losing.Plus I beleive the host's files are used.

I see lots of results that are impossible. That just means they are impossible for me to acheive, not impossible alltogether.

I wonder if there is some kind of test that could be run?
The only thing that matters to me in a MP game is getting a good ally.Nothing else is as important.......Xin Yu
