sorry if you have already answered this question alot of times, but I am newcomer here: so how do I play civ II in my win2000 pc? I install the game but when I try to start it looks for some files that don't exist... thanks for answering

What files? - IIRC Win 2000 is a 'replacement' for Win NT which makes it pure 32 bit - I rather doubt that a game as old as Civ will manage to run...

      Just guessing:
Try installing WinG first. Should be on the Civ2 CD.
Or you might try rip it from MS' site: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...-US/Wing10.exe

I have Civ II MPG installed on my Windows 2000 system, it runs perfectly. I had no problems installing it and haven't had a single problem playing it.

          hi guys,
I followed your hints but they didn't work. Finally I found the solution myself. I reinstalled civ in an older drive, second in my pc, with FAT32. It worked there, even under win 2000 OS. I hope everyone who wishes to play civ under 2000 has a second hard disk also!

You mean it won't work on W2K's version of NTFS? I've played it from NTFS (NT4) before. You sure you didn't just screw up the first install one way or the other?
