Civ2 is gone on the zone!? Pah! That's old hat anyway. Try something different for a change! Like Freeciv...
I'm happy to inform you that the Freeciv pubserver at http://pubserver.freeciv.org/ has always been open for players and always will be as long as the Freeciv community continues.Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

I noticed your sig line, HH. Did Trajan make progress then ?Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead

1.14 actually offers a lot what Civ2 players demand right now. Why not try that version for awhile?
Of course you can always try to speed up the process by becoming involved yourself via betatesting, coding, contributing, designing rulesets/graphics etc...
P.S
There's another Freeciv longturn planned, this one will be played with regular Civ2 rules. And these sort of games can be played with a lot of players at the same time. However we need 10-15 people before we can start.
