i can't get the thumbs up to work, i am sure i am doing something wrong of course....

is the slow play not allowed officially in the rah rules? or is that private/public knowledge

You really can't outlaw slow play. But you can stop playing people who do play slow

it may as well be a rule, we all know what happens when a player is tooo slow

Well... many of the rules are meant to discourage slow play... like not using hutfinder DURING Your turn... and other such things.

And yes, slow players don't get invited back to games.
*unless you are desperate and nobody else is around*

aren't there some ToT players that MP with us that use MGE? or did they have both ToT and MGE?

If a non-condoned patch allegedly existed at another site then hypothetically it would upgrade either 2.42 or ToT to MGE.

oh, i thought there might be a semi-legit patch that allowed MP play between ToT and MGE, but i dunno since i don't have ToT

I have both... and I gather there are some nefarious

places where you can upgrade 2.42>MGE or downgrade ToT>MGE. It's not quite a patch, IIRC, because it's not ToT anymore when you're done modifying it.
