    • 9.31pm. Quickly turn off computer when you think you hear Mrs Horse coming.

9.31 and 30 seconds pm. Quickly turn computer back on again when you realise it's a false alarm.

9.31 and 45 seconds pm. Die in the arse when Mrs Horse walks in to point out - not that you need to have it pointed out - that you fell for the old false alarm double bluff.

9.32pm. Deity finally cracks the sh*ts and goes to bed in a sulk.

                • No fights to speak of - well, I did have to insist that Deity disband his peripatetic* warrior who was blundering around my land. Being the gent that he is, Deity obliged. Finally.

Nuh. Try the next bit of the definition. The bit about itinerant, wandering.

                          • Someone asked me what 'peripatetic' meant the other day (I think they were reading Rousseau's Confessions) as it happens.

I managed to provide Finbar's definition, though I admit defeat on the Aristotle reference.

                            • Aristotelian is derived from Aristotle's habit of walking around while he taught. Hence Aristotle was peripatetic. Aristotelian would appear in a dictionary under "peripatetic" but it doesn't define the word. It's more of a similie.
