But seriously, I'd be interested in a poll on the issue of significantly holding up play to negotiate. I was surprised by Makeo's comment.

I don't know how it took so long, but I understand that the negotiations have to finish before moving units.

It took roughly half an hour. There were two negotiations that were cutting across each other. Mix in some confusion about who was talking to whom about what, whether the numbers being quoted were latitude or longitude, Deity clogging up KC with his complaining, a maximum amount of perversity from Deity and Horse - what would one of our games be without their perversity? - and you have a recipe for a delay.

There's nothing wrong with negotiating boundaries in your turn. As has been said, a boundary will dictate where you move your units if you have moves left.

No that's not true. I reduced my forces when I went to republic and in ratio their number seem to be almost identical to yours..........so I'm not sure what your point was...
