I think my version is very new so there is an incompatability problem with some older versions. I have the same problem with "Ansteig" and other scenarios.

    But fear not.
I have Civ2 version 1.02 on my old hard drive and ToT which i never use. I will find a way somehow. I am downloading the files at CFC right now to upgrade that old version of civ2.

By the way i have about 13 days of uninterupted vacations due to christmas. I will be able to play as many turns per day as possible. After that period there will be brief pause to my activities for a couple of weeks( i will be available for only three days per week) and then things will be back to normal(almost everyday gaming).
Will this last for more than 13 days? And if this is so, will the rest be able to cope with that two week period?

As i never played a PBEM before i do not know how long these last. Since i fear i will be more of a burden than a good gaming partner, i want to clarify these things. If they will pose a problem tell me so now. I won't be offended or anything, do not worry.

        Glad you got it working

I expect this will last longer than 13 days but 2 weeks of only playing 3 days a weeks should not be a big problem, you can always get someone else to play your turns while your away if necessary.

We start whenever Pap plays his turn.

          Who are the players?

I will load the savegame as a normal game or as a hot seat game?

          Sorry for the annoying questions.

You might want to download and read the PBEM guide. It is "stickyed" and the fourth thread in this Forum. When I started playing a few months ago it was very helpfull for me to get started.

And as to "who are the players", Im sure Valuk will eventually update the first post.

I just loaded a scenario here is the sequence:

              Select:

              Multiplayer
              Network Game
              TCP/IP
              Begin Scenario
Then choose the correct .scn file from your directory
Then choose the Prince level (usually)
Check Open game only unless you have agreed to something else
              Choose unlimited time
              Network name -does not matter
              Game name- does not matter
              Start game
              Choose your Civ
              Your gender
              Your name

When you save make sure at least one unit is still "blinking". Im other words one unit HAS to have movement left and is unfortified. Then press CTRL-N, that will end your turn and zero out any movement for any unit including the fortified ones. That prevents the AI from unfortifying and moveing your units all over the place.

After CTRL-N save the turn, then post it here with a description of what you did that turn.

Hopefully this helps and welcome to the PBEM world. And my one peice of advice is DONT CHEAT! Someone will find out sooner or later and if you do You'll screw up your chances of continueing and having a great time as a PBEM er!

I just read the PBEM guide, following your advice.

                  CHEAT?

I never cheat in Multiplayer games. It is not honourable.
Sometimes i cheat vs the AI but only use the reveal map thing. I never create units and stuff.
Then i load the game again so as to remove the cheat option.

Great! Then you will fit right in, and again welcome!

And my intention was not to accuse you of anything, but a lot of us who have been around for a while have had games RUINed by cheaters. And with you being new I just wanted to let you know that it would be really frowned upon. Thats all.

London Blitz begins and several units are destroyed and severely damaged in London and various other cities in Britain.

Despite Herman Goering's claims that the Luftwaffe would be able to destroy the RAF, Hitler has decided to launch a full scale invasion and German troops have established a beach head in the suburbs south of London.

Next month, more units will arrive and our troops will begin to fight their way into the rest of Britain.
