Ack...I think I'm going to have to back out. I'm a PBEM ignoramus...I'll just play single player for now, and let you know if I find anything that needs a fix or anything

Please, this game is only for MULTIPLAYER.
SINGLEPLAYER game can lead you to a nuclear war in the first turn.

Well... it seems we need a new NATO player

I'd volunteer, but except for knowing which time period it is, I have no clue about the scenario. Plus, it would be my first PBEM game.

Academia, the best way to combat against nuking every city and having no way to retaliate is to have an event...

If a USSR or USA nuke is destroyed by the opposition, then create a new one, and it doesn't have to be created in a city or airbase necessarily because it would still have the movement on the next turn.

Also, I would love to play this, let me know of any new openings.

Communist rebels have overthrown the governments of Sweden and Finland, and the two nations have sworn their allegiance to the Soviet Bloc. Warsaw Pact troops are now taking defensive positions in Helsinki, Stockholm, and Malmo.

Wait a minute... should everyone download this new .scn file that includes the new 3 months per turn rate? or only the one that begins the game?
I mean, will the savegame "include" this 3 rate turn?
